Our IAA Level 3 Training Course is a detailed two-day programme for advisers and legal professionals who want to develop advanced immigration advice knowledge and prepare for Level 3 accreditation.
The course follows on from IAA Level 2 training and is designed to cover the key areas of the Immigration Advice Authority Level 3 syllabus, previously known as OISC Level 3.

What Is Included in the IAA Level 3 Syllabus?
The IAA Level 3 course introduces more advanced learning objectives for immigration adviser applicants. Areas covered include:

- Practical preparation for Level 3 assessment expectations

Will I be a regulated Level 3 immigration adviser if I pass the course?
If you complete a training course, pass the competency assessment, and have at least 18 months of full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience providing UK immigration advice, including a minimum of 6 months of Level 3 work experience, you will pass and become an IAA-regulated Level 3 immigration adviser.
Our training course provides the resources and content required to pass the competency assessment. It helps you prepare, and you receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Training helps you become more competent, but you must obtain IAA approval for your application and pass the Level 3 competence assessment (with a pass mark of 65%) to be eligible to practice at Level 3. You will need to book your assessment when you are ready. We can assist you with booking, but your assessment is not included in the course fees.
Requirements for Level 3 Accreditation
To become accredited at IAA Level 3, you must have:
- 18 months of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience providing UK immigration advice
- At least 6 months of Level 3 work experience
- Completed IAA Level 2 registration
- A completed IAA application with all required documents and checks
- A pass score on the Level 3 competence test

What Can You Do as an IAA Level 3 Adviser?
IAA Level 3 is the highest immigration advice level in the UK. Depending on authorisation and scope, Level 3 work can include:
- Preparing Pre-Action Protocol Letters before judicial review
- Advising on discretionary and complex applications
- Working with concessionary policy matters
- Making representations in cases involving illegal entry, overstaying, removal, and deportation
- Preparing immigration bail applications to the First-tier Tribunal
- Carrying out substantive appeals work
- Representing clients at First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal hearings
