Youth Mobility Scheme Visa: Overview
The Youth Mobility Visa is for young people who wish to work and live in the UK. It allows holders to enter and leave the UK without restriction during its validity period.
Youth Mobility Visa holders can also set up their own business in the UK. However, some limitations exist, such as not hiring employees, keeping their business below £5,000 in value and renting office premises.
This visa is only available to citizens of eligible countries. Although Philippine nationals are not eligible for this visa, citizens from eligible countries residing in the Philippines can still apply. This is because there is no requirement to live in your home country when applying for the Youth Mobility Visa.
The Youth Mobility Visa cannot be extended beyond the initial two-year period except if you are from Australia, Canada or New Zealand. You may be eligible for other types of visas if you wish to stay longer in the UK, such as a Student Visa or Skilled Worker Visa.
