Global Talent Visa Application Processing Time
Ghanaian citizens applying for a Global Talent visa from outside of the UK can expect to wait around 3 weeks before they receive a decision on their application. If you are applying from within the UK, the processing time extends to around 8 weeks.
The processing time of your application can take longer than expected depending on the specific circumstances relating to your case. For example, if you’re applying with dependents and they require an appointment, if your documentation needs to be verified, if you are required to attend an interview, or if you have a criminal record, you will likely experience delayed processing times.
Depending on your circumstances, you may be able to pay a fee in order to get a faster decision.
Global Talent Visa UK Validity, Renewal, and Extension Options
The validity period for the Global Talent visa is 5 years. You can apply to extend your visa if the endorsement that your application was based on has not withdrawn its approval. The same applies if you applied with an eligible award and the award has not been withdrawn.
You must also be able to demonstrate that you have made money in your field during your time in the UK, which is usually evidenced by payslips.
You can apply to extend your visa for up to 5 years at a time, and renew your visa as many times as you like, provided that you continue to meet all of the eligibility requirements. You may also be able to apply for indefinite leave to remain after 3 or 5 years, depending on your field, which will allow you to settle permanently in the UK.

Global Talent Visa UK Dependent Visa: How to Apply for Family Members
It is possible for Ghanaian citizens applying for the Global Talent visa to bring dependents with them to the UK, provided that fulfil all eligibility requirements. Dependents can include your spouse, civil partner, unmarried partner, children under 18, or children over 18 currently in the UK as your dependent. You’ll be required to provide evidence of your relationship to your dependent(s) when you apply.
If your partner or children are outside of the UK, they will have to complete a separate application, applying as a partner or as a child. If your dependents are inside the UK, they will have to extend or switch their visa before their current visa expires.
Dependents on the Global Talent visa are entitled to work (except as a sportsperson or coach), study, and travel abroad and return to the UK. However, they cannot access most public funds or the State Pension.
