What is the Spain Tourist Visa?
The Spain Tourist visa allows you to visit Spain for tourism, sightseeing, or to visit friends and family residing in Spain. With the Tourist visa, you can stay in Spain for a maximum of 90 days within 180 days.
The Spain Tourist visa is a Schengen visa and it permits you to visit any other Schengen country. However, if you will be spending more time in a country other than Spain, you have to apply for a Tourist visa at the country’s embassy.
Note that you are not permitted to work on a Tourist visa. It is strictly for tourism purposes. If you are caught engaging in activities other than the purpose of the visa, you will face the risk of getting banned from the Schengen area.
Before applying for a Tourist visa, confirm if you need to get one or not because nationals of some countries are exempt from applying for the Tourist visa.

Do you need a visa to visit Spain from Canada?
Canadians do not need a visa to enter Spain for tourism purposes. This is because the EU has an agreement with the government of Canada to allow its citizens visa-free entry into the EU if the duration of their stay is less than 90 days.
However, this visa-free access only applies to the citizens and not the residents. So if you are a national of another country but residing in Canada, you will need a Tourist visa to visit Spain.
If you are a citizen of the US, Brazil, Mexico, and Australia residing in Canada, you don’t need a visa for a short visit to Spain as these countries are also in agreement with the EU.
